Collaborating for a Greener Future

Night Eyes Water and Landcare Inc. has been a steadfast guardian of the region’s natural beauty for over two decades. What began as a small group aiming to curb theft along the Pumicestone Passage has evolved into a dedicated environmental watch organisation. Today, with nearly 100 volunteers, Night Eyes patrols the waterways and streets, collecting rubbish and ensuring the area’s cleanliness.

To support their mission, Night Eyes collaborates with Strong Street Recyclers, a Containers for Change depot located at 15 Strong Street in Baringa. This facility, equipped with automated counting machines and a 24-hour bag drop service, offers a convenient way for community members to return eligible containers and receive refunds.

Night Eyes utilises this depot to recycle the containers they collect during their clean-up efforts, turning waste into funds that support their environmental initiatives. The partnership between Night Eyes and Strong Street Recyclers exemplifies community collaboration in promoting sustainability.

By leveraging the resources of the recycling facility, Night Eyes not only contributes to reducing litter but also engages the community in environmental stewardship. This synergy ensures that Caloundra’s waterways and lands remain pristine for future generations.
