There’s something special happening in Caloundra’s industrial park – a craft revolution led by two locals with a shared love of good times, great spirits, and the Australian bush. Meet Kirra and Steve, the powerhouse duo behind Beachtree Distilling Co., Australia’s most awarded organic distillery.

Together, they’re proving that world-class gin and whisky don’t need to come from Scotland or London – they can be produced right here on the Sunshine Coast, crafted sustainably and infused with the essence of the land.

For Kirra, a Bundjalung country farm girl turned scientist, flavour and connection have always been at the heart of her story. Raised among macadamia trees, family feasts, and the scent of wine and grappa from her Nonna’s kitchen, her love of food and flavour runs deep. With a background in science, health and nutrition, she now channels that curiosity and creativity into every batch distilled at Beachtree.

Steve, a proud Kamilaroi man and engineer, brings a different kind of alchemy. For him, the bush is a living laboratory. His innovative approach to distillation and filtration blends technical precision with an innate respect for native botanicals. The result? Spirits that don’t just taste Australian – they are Australia, bottled.

Powered by the sun and crafted from organically grown sugar cane, Beachtree’s range – gin, vodka, rum, whisky and liqueurs – is vegan-friendly, preservative-free, and made with minimal impact on the land. Each sip tells a story of sustainability, innovation, and deep-rooted respect for country.
