It was a week to remember for the Caloundra District Indoor Bowls Association at the Australian Championships in Warrnambool (24–30 August), with players bringing home two golds and a bronze.
Caloundra players struck gold in the Mixed Pairs, with David and Holly Blyth taking out the title, while Carmel Blyth and Julie Wiegand secured another gold in the Ladies Pairs. Adding to the success, the Men’s Triples team of Ben Fidler (Millmerran), David Stoker (Caloundra), and Philip Lowry (Millmerran) brought home a hard-fought bronze medal.
Special highlights of the event included Holly Blyth stepping up from Juniors to Seniors, Julie Wiegand making her Championships debut, and 14 Caloundra members representing the Association on the national stage — including two juniors who proudly represented Queensland in the Junior Boys Singles.
