A group of Caloundra retirees has celebrated 13 years of walking together for health, fitness, and friendship.
The Walkie Talkies have been strolling the halls of Caloundra Shopping Centre since 2012. Member Lauretta Shaw said the milestone brought together past and present walkers, including the group’s inaugural member.
“Our walking group means the world to us. It keeps us active, connected, and laughing every week,” she said. To mark the occasion, the Shopping Centre treated members to coffee, donuts and a gift card in appreciation for “brightening the halls.”
Centre Manager Jocelyn Sakeson said the group has become part of the centre’s heart. “We’re proud to celebrate their commitment and community spirit.”
