I’m so excited to be hosting the 2nd Annual Caloundra Community Awards on 10 September at the Queensland Air Museum, celebrating the people and organisations making a difference in our community.
Every day, I have the privilege of meeting volunteers, educators, local businesses and members of sporting and community groups who give their time and energy to support others. These awards are an opportunity to recognise their contribution and simply say thank you.
Whether it’s someone quietly volunteering behind the scenes, an inspiring young achiever, a local business supporting our community or a mentor changing lives, there are so many deserving people whose efforts deserve to be celebrated.
This year’s awards will recognise excellence across nine categories:
• Volunteer Group of the Year
• Community Group of the Year
• Innovator of the Year
• Young Achiever of the Year
• Sporting Club of the Year
• Business of the Year
• Educator/Mentor of the Year
• Caloundra Champion of the Year
• Inspirational Person of the Year
The awards night will bring together volunteers, community organisations, local businesses and residents for an evening of celebration and gratitude. I can’t wait to recognise the remarkable people who make Caloundra such a caring, connected and vibrant place to call home. I look forward to celebrating with you all in September.
