Living in Caloundra has a wonderful way of keeping people active, often without even realising it. When you live beside the water, movement becomes part of daily life – a walk along the boardwalk, a swim at Bulcock Beach, or simply, a wander into town for a coffee.
From the rooftop of Pumicestone Blue, our residents and guests enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the ever-changing Pumicestone Passage. It’s amazing how much activity there is to watch — fishing boats heading out, paddleboarders gliding across the water, and walkers and cyclists making the most of our beautiful foreshore paths.
Lately, many locals have been following the progress of the Bribie Island breakthrough and the dredging works restoring the channel toward Bulcock Beach. A big thank-you must go to Buzz — the drone operated by Blueys Photography — whose regular aerial updates have helped keep the community informed about what’s happening out on the water. His images show the dredger at work clearing the channel, an important step in ensuring vessels like the Coast Guard can safely reach the ocean.
It’s a reminder that our coastal environment is alive and changing, and that getting outside to see it — walking, cycling, swimming, or simply watching the tide roll in — is one of the best ways to stay active and connected with our community.
