Alisha Cooper’s new venture, Sip Happens, is not just a coffee spot, it’s a reflection of Caloundra’s evolving spirit. The café was launched in early 2025 and is located in the middle of town within Bulcock Street Bazaar. It brings together Alisha’s passion for connection, local culture, and laid-back surf-town charm. Raised in Kawana and now settled in Caloundra, Alisha shares her love for the coastal lifestyle while championing a space that celebrates both comfort and creativity.
Growing up in nearby Kawana, Alisha always felt a pull toward Caloundra’s quieter rhythm. “I found peace here,” she says. “Moffat Beach really stole my heart.” For Alisha, it’s not just about the lifestyle, it’s the landscape, too. “This headland is precious,” she explains. “Currimundi, Dicky’s, Moffat’s, Shelly’s and King’s are all within minutes of each other. If the wind changes, you’ve still got options. The diversity of surf spots is a big reason I’ve stayed in the area.”
But her vision for Caloundra goes beyond the surf. “We love the peace and serenity here, but we also need a bit of culture and creativity,” she says. “Events like the Caloundra Music Festival and the Pa & Ma Bendall Comp bring people together. That’s the kind of energy we need more of – fun, community, connection.”
At Sip Happens, that sense of connection is front and centre. As a barista, Alisha finds joy in the simple, everyday moments. “I’m here to chat, and to make your drink just how you like it,” she says. “This is a space where people can hang out, feel comfortable, and connect.” Whether you’re chasing a perfect flat white or just looking for a welcoming corner to pause, Sip Happens offers both and so much more.
