Fisher Awards Celebrate Community Spirit

For nine years, the Fisher Community Awards have celebrated the people and organisations whose dedication, generosity and community spirit make our region such a special place to call home.

This year, nominations have again uncovered inspiring stories from across the electorate. They include volunteers who give countless hours to help others, educators shaping the next generation, businesses supporting local families, sporting champions, environmental leaders and community groups working quietly behind the scenes.

Every nomination is an important recognition of someone making a difference.

On Friday, 18 September, we will come together at the Sunshine Coast Function Centre at Caloundra RSL for the ninth annual Fisher Community Awards Gala Dinner.

The evening will recognise this year’s nominees and announce the winners across 11 categories, including Educator of the Year, Young Achiever of the Year, Business of the Year, Senior of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year and the Andrew Wallace Award for Community Group of the Year.

While only one winner can be announced in each category, every nominee deserves our gratitude. Being nominated means someone has noticed their contribution and taken the time to share their story.

The gala dinner is our opportunity to bring those stories into the spotlight and celebrate the people helping make Fisher the best place to learn, earn and retire.

Annabelle “AB” Brett will return as our Master of Ceremonies, guiding us through an evening of recognition, community pride and celebration.

After the final award has been presented, 2026 Australian Idol runner-up Harlan Goode will close the evening with live music.

I look forward to recognising every nominee, congratulating our 2026 winners and celebrating another remarkable year of service across Fisher.
