Caloundra State High School Signature Programs

Caloundra State High School is home to a growing range of Signature Programs that are helping students turn their passions into pathways while achieving outstanding success at state and national level.

From elite sport and the performing arts to academic excellence and STEM innovation, the school’s Signature Programs provide students with opportunities to extend their skills, connect with industry and community partners, and learn alongside like-minded peers.

Programs currently include Volleyball, Rugby League, Surfing, Dance EDGE, Music, Horizons Academic Excellence and STEM.

Principal Natasha Wicks said the programs were about more than just performance. “Our Signature Programs help students build confidence, discipline, teamwork and strong connections to school.”

“We’re incredibly proud of the opportunities available to students here at Caloundra State High School and the way these programs support young people to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.”

The school’s Volleyball program continues to set the benchmark both locally and nationally, currently ranked 5th in Australia and recognised as the highest ranked volleyball school on the Sunshine Coast across both public and private schools.

Caloundra SHS Rugby League has also experienced significant growth and success, with multiple teams now competing in Tier One competitions against some of Queensland’s strongest rugby league schools.

In the creative arts, the school’s Dance EDGE program continues to shine, with several students earning acceptance into the prestigious Brent Street academy, one of Australia’s leading performing arts institutions.

With enrolments for 2027 now open, families are encouraged to explore the opportunities available and discover what makes Caloundra State High School a destination school on the Sunshine Coast.
