Golden Beach Tavern has thrown open the doors on a fresh new chapter, and the popular local watering hole is looking brighter, breezier and more family-friendly than ever.
At the heart of the transformation is a new front bar facing Bowman Road, giving the tavern a more open and welcoming street presence. The sports bar has also moved to the front of the venue, maintaining the tavern’s sporting spirit without allowing it to dominate the atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the gaming room has been relocated to the rear, in the former sports bar space. The switch has helped create a more inclusive setting throughout the tavern’s main dining and social areas – and the Chronicle team rates it!
The bistro seating has also been upgraded, with a tasty line-up of affordable specials designed with local families in mind. Among them is a $21.90 rump steak lunch, available Monday to Friday — a welcome value option for residents feeling the pinch of rising fuel and living costs.
Fridays bring an extra splash of fun. Cocktails are proving popular, particularly with the ladies, while soloists and duos provide live music from 3pm to 6pm. Seafood lovers can also tuck into $3 natural oysters all day Friday.
Then there is the outdoor deck – a breezy, relaxed space with comfortable booth seating and just the right touch of style. An easy spot to enjoy lunch, meet friends or wind down over an afternoon bevvy.
The result is a refreshed neighbourhood venue that still celebrates sport, but now offers much more room for families, friends and locals to gather.
Whether seeking a weekday lunch, Friday cocktail or lazy afternoon on the deck, Golden Beach Tavern’s new look is ready to welcome the community.
