Cycling Without Age Sunshine Coast connects older people and those with limited mobility to the beauty of our beaches, forests, and community — all from the comfort of a trishaw e-bike.
This not-for-profit initiative, run entirely by volunteers, offers free rides to those no longer able to cycle for themselves, bringing joy, connection, and fresh air to every journey.
Founded in Denmark in 2012, Cycling Without Age now operates in 42 countries.
Sharon and Nelson joined the Sunshine Coast team in 2022 after hearing about it from a friend.
“We were looking for something outdoors, environmentally responsible, and meaningful,” says Sharon. “Our passengers forget their isolation and rediscover the simple pleasure of a bike ride. We share stories, smiles, and sunshine — it’s uplifting for everyone.”
Guided by principles of generosity, slowness, storytelling, relationships, and dignity, Cycling Without Age brings people together in the best possible way, one gentle ride at a time.
