The Ballroom to the Dance Floor

From elegant courtly dances to disco-era anthems, this vibrant concert traces the evolution of dance through music. Under the baton of Daniel Kossov, the Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra brings to life a rich program spanning baroque, ballet, grand ballroom waltzes, swing and boogie, and the sultry rhythms of tango—before shifting gears with a touch of ABBA.

Happening at The Events Centre (home of SCSO) on Saturday June 13, the evening culminates in a lively sing-along to Dancing Queen, led by vocalist Kate Leiper. Dubbed “Posh Karaoke,” lyrics are projected on screen, glowsticks are handed out, and the audience is invited to join in while the orchestra provides the full symphonic backing.
