Art lovers, families, and curious first-time visitors are invited to step away from screens and into a world of texture, history, and imagination with How Soon is Now?, a major national touring exhibition by acclaimed Brisbane-based artist Bruce Reynolds at Caloundra Regional Gallery toured by M&G Qld with support from Visions of Australia and Arts Qld.
Opening Friday 22 May 2026 and running until 28 June 2026, How Soon is Now? is the first national touring exhibition of Reynolds’ work and brings together striking cast relief sculptures and bold collaged linoleum works.
The exhibition celebrates physical making at a time when so much of life is digital. Come and experience art that invites you to slow down, look closely, and think about how the past connects with the present. His artworks explore themes many people can relate to, including memory, migration, time, and how we shape, but are also shaped by our environments.
Reynolds’ practice blends art forms, sitting somewhere between painting, sculpture, drawing, and architecture. His career has developed over decades, with time spent working in Rome strongly influencing his use of relief forms—artworks that stand out from the wall but remain closely connected to its surface.
Reynolds said his work is about asking questions rather than giving answers.
Caloundra Regional Gallery is located at 22 Omrah Ave, Caloundra.
