Motherhood can be deeply rewarding, but it can also feel lonely. Between school runs, work and family commitments, making new friends as an adult is not always easy.
That’s what drew local mum Selina to Social Mums Club – Caloundra & Surrounds. She saw an opportunity to create a welcoming space where women could connect, make friends and feel supported.
“I wanted to create somewhere mums could come along and meet other women without feeling like they had to know someone first,” Selina said.
The free local community welcomes mums at every stage, including those with babies, teenagers or grown-up children. It hosts coffee catch-ups, walks, casual gatherings, girls’ nights and other activities across the area.
Selina’s vision also extends to the wider community. The club introduces mums to trusted local businesses and gives local business owners opportunities to connect.
“Sometimes one conversation over a coffee can turn into a genuine friendship, a new business connection or simply make someone’s week a little better.”
Newcomers, mums returning to social life after having children and women simply looking for friendship are all welcome.
