Mamma Mia!

Mad About Theatre will be celebrating 10 years of productions in 2026, and to mark this major milestone they will be staging the smash hit musical Mamma Mia! at The Events Centre Caloundra this August.

In an era that has seen the closure of major Arts festivals, companies and performance venues across Australia, Mad About Theatre understands it is no mean feat to have endured ten years in the industry.  “It’s certainly not an easy industry to survive in,” says Artistic Director, Madison Thew-Keyworth. “To reach the 10 year milestone is definitely a birthday worth celebrating, and what better show to do it with than Mamma Mia!”

Seen by more than 65 million people around the world, Mamma Mia! is a musical theatre phenomenon.   Set on a beautiful small Greek island, Sophie dreams of the perfect wedding — one which includes her father giving her away. The problem? Sophie doesn’t know who he is! Her mother, Donna, refuses to talk about the past, so Sophie takes matters into her own hands.  What follows is a tale filled with loveable characters, hilarious twists and heart warming moments.
