Event Details

Many great composers have drawn their inspiration from the experience of place, whether it’s their beloved homeland, the far off and exotic places they’ve travelled to, or even places they’ve only imagined.

In this concert we’ll showcase music from around the world.

Some are well known works like Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture with its depiction of the wild coast of Scotland, Rimsky-Korsakoff’s exotic “Tale of the Kalender Prince” from Scheherazade, and Smetana’s Ma Vlast (the Moldau). We’ll also take you to some new places courtesy of India’s epic film composer Ilaiyaraaja and his “Symphonic Fantasy”, and our very own Cliff Bradley’s Symphony no. 1 “Images of the Sunshine Coast”.

Music really is the universal language, and we know each of these works will enthrall, surprise and delight you!
